Feldspathic Ceramic Veneers.
Naturalness, Measurement, Control.
"A perfect face is one that no one notices. You only see a natural, bright smile that seems to have always been there."
When Veneers Really Make Sense
Veneers make sense when they serve to improve the smile in a credible, stable and proportionate way: discolorations that do not respond to whitening, worn shapes, small misalignments or visible anterior restorations that alter the overall harmony.
Not all aesthetic requests go in the same direction. For this reason we first define the objective, limits, quantity of enamel available and desired naturalness. Feldspar ceramic comes into play when the priority is an outcome that feels like it was born with you, not built on top of you.
For Whom This Path May Be Right
The correct decision is not "yes or no veneers", but understanding whether they are the most coherent solution for your smile and your face.
Discolorations and Old Visible Restorations
When the color is not harmonious or old anterior composites make the smile uneven, veneers can restore uniformity without distorting the expression.
Shape, Wear, Microcracks
If the front teeth are abraded, shortened or have lost definition, veneers allow you to reconstruct proportions and light in a conservative way.
Selective Aesthetic Corrections
When the problem is mild and localized, veneers may be a more direct choice than longer treatments, provided the case is well indicated.
Second Opinion on Aesthetics
If you fear an effect that is too white, too uniform or too "fake", the point is to clarify the design, materials and limits before taking an irreversible step.
How We Get to the Result, Before Touching Your Teeth
A multi-step process designed to clarify the result before making it final, without unnecessary acceleration.
Aesthetic Analysis and Smile Design
3D scanning, clinical photographs and analysis of facial parameters according to Fradeani's Esthetic Checklist. We digitally design your new smile considering proportions, symmetry, smile line and harmony with the face.
Mock-up and aesthetic test
A direct resin mock-up is applied to your teeth without preparation. See and experience the final result before any intervention. You can smile, talk, evaluate. No decision is irreversible up to this point.
Minimal Preparation for the Microscope
The preparation of the teeth — when necessary — takes place under a Leica operating microscope. The amount of enamel removed is minimal (0.3-0.5mm). In many cases it is possible to proceed with no-prep veneers, fully preserving the natural tooth.
Artisanal Layering
The master ceramist layers the veneer by hand, layer after layer, replicating the optical structure of the natural tooth: dentin, enamel, individual color effects. Each veneer requires hours of extremely precise manual work.
Adhesive Testing and Cementation
Try in the mouth with try-in pastes to check color and integration. The definitive adhesive cementation — performed with a microscopic protocol — seals the veneer to the tooth, creating a permanent chemical bond. The result is monolithic: tooth and ceramic become one.
Clinical Criteria and Craftsmanship
The Italian School of Aesthetics
Dr. Buniato has built his aesthetic expertise under the guidance of the greatest exponents of the Italian school: Fradeani (systematic aesthetic rehabilitation), Massironi (micro-precision under the microscope) e Blacksmiths (digital integration in complex cases). The same matrix guides the work today on precision technologies which support the most sophisticated aesthetic cases.
Collaboration with laboratories Oral Design — among the most prestigious in the world for dental aesthetics — guarantees ceramic manufacturing quality at the highest international levels. The ceramist is not a supplier: he is a creative partner in the project of your smile, which always starts from one complete clinical evaluation.
Real Results
The point is not to "change your face", but to restore light, proportion and naturalness to a smile that must seem like yours.
First
After
When It Is Better to Stop and Clarify Before Proceeding
If the fear is losing naturalness, sacrificing too much enamel or finding yourself with a standardized smile, the correct thing is not to speed up the treatment but to clarify the mock-up, amount of preparation and real aesthetic objective.
Our approach remains conservative: when indicated we work with minimal preparations, often very small or absent. But it's not just the material that makes the difference: it's the protocol with which we decide when to do them, how many to do and how much to push ourselves.

Frequently Asked Questions about Veneers
How long do feldspar ceramic veneers last?
A systematic review by Beier et al. (Journal of Dentistry, 2012; DOI: 10.1016/j.jdent.2012.08.003) on 2,562 veneers documented a survival rate of 95.7% at 10 years. Feldspar ceramic, thanks to its superior adhesion to the enamel and chromatic stability over time, represents the gold standard for anterior veneers. Veneers made by Oral Design-level ceramists maintain natural translucency and fluorescence for decades.
Do veneers damage natural teeth?
With current techniques, the preparation is minimally invasive: the thickness removed is 0.3-0.5mm, entirely in the enamel. Peumans et al. (Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, 2000) document that the enamel-ceramic adhesive bond is the strongest and most long-lasting in restorative dentistry. Dr. Buniato carries out the preparations under a Leica M525 operating microscope, checking the thickness of residual enamel down to the micron. In selected cases the no-prep technique is possible.
Why choose feldspar ceramic and not zirconia?
Hand-layered feldspar ceramic offers superior optical properties: translucency, opalescence and fluorescence that replicate natural enamel. A study by Fradeani & Redemagni (International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, 2002) on 182 feldspathic veneers shows a survival of 94.4% at 12 years. Monolithic zirconia, although more mechanically resistant, does not reach the same level of aesthetic naturalness. For the anterior sector, feldspathic remains the material of choice.
How does digital smile design work?
Smile Design integrates the 3Shape TRIOS 6 intraoral scan with the 3D facial Facescan to design the smile in harmony with the proportions of the face. The patient visualizes the expected result via mock-up before starting the treatment. This approach based on digital planning reduces aesthetic surprises and allows the ceramist (in our case, Giuseppe Romeo of Oral Design) to work with precise parameters of shape, size and characterization.
